Meet Your Inspector;

Hi, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.  I am a life long resident of Washington State, and currently reside on Camano Island. I perform home inspections throughout King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties and Camano Island. (Serving from the Seattle area to Bellingham)

I started my full time home inspection business over 12 years ago in Everett, WA. and have performed approximately 3,000 home inspections for many satisfied home buyers.

I am a Washington State Licensed Home Inspector #209.

I adhere to the comprehensive Washington State Home Inspection Standards of Practice as per WAC 308-408C-010.

As a Washington State Licensed Home Inspector I regularly take courses and attend seminars that improve my inspection skills and knowledge.  There is always something new to learn.

As a former general contractor, specializing in real estate work orders, I have experience in many aspects of home construction, repair, and defect recognition.  This experience has exposed me to the many different types of concerns and deficiencies that are found in homes, both the common and the uncommon.

For eight years I was a licensed structural pest inspector, which allowed me to report on pest conducive conditions and wood rot decay in homes, while performing home inspections. The new home inspection law allows pest conducive conditions and wood rot to be reported by home inspectors without this SPI license. Any incidental observations of wood destroying insect activity, found during a home inspection, will be recommended for follow up by a licensed pest management professional.

I understand that a home purchase may be your largest single investment, and I take the responsibility of providing a thorough inspection very seriously.  See "My Promise to You"

Thank you for considering me as your Home Inspector!

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***-

                       What You Should Know About Choosing A Home Inspector

                 As of September 1, 2009 Home Inspectors in the State of Washington must be Licensed.

Choosing a Licensed Home Inspector ensures that you are hiring some one who has demonstrated a minimum level of proficiency in the field of Home Inspection. Washington Home Inspectors must follow a Code of Ethics, and adhere to a Standards of Practice when inspecting your largest investment. This newly enacted legislation is intended to protect the public from substandard inspections.

Verifying an inspectors license is the first step in choosing your inspector, but don't stop there. Gather as much information as you can about what experience a prospective inspector has. Some inspectors only provide a minimal handwritten checklist, and others may make a client wait a couple days for a copy of the report.

Understand you may be comparing inspectors who range from decades of experience to those who just recently completed a 4 week training course at a technical college. All of them licensed, but the results of your inspection may vary considerably from inspector to inspector.

In the end you are paying a home inspector for their opinion which is based largely on their experience and training. Making a choice based on insufficient information, and/ or lowest price can lead to a substandard inspection that costs a home buyer substantially.

In May of 2009 I passed the National Home Inspector Exam and the Washington State Exam to qualify for licensure.

On July 27, 2009 my license (#209) was issued as part of the first group of inspectors ever licensed in Washington State.
